Tony Stoyles - EDRU Director of Rugby

It's been well over 2 months ago since the squad got together and I would imagine that many of you have forgotten what we all look like, so I have included a photo of myself!

The "Task at Hand" is to be prepared for the forth coming International vs Wales, but in preparation for the International match, we have a well supported match vs Ely XV @ Ely RFC, Cambridgeshire to be played at the end of February 2009 and we need to be focussed and your utmost commitment is needed so lets enjoy the rugby and PREPARE!

There will be proposals to introduce either one or two sessions PRIOR to the match at Ely which will be arranged for a Sunday(s) duiring the month of February - so watch out for announcements on the EDRU website and EDRU Facebook

I would also like to add,

Over the past few months the EDRU have faced some difficult challenges in both training and securing players for the future - some players have retired, some have working commitments, some are out of work, but most importantly, during the difficulties of the dreadful 'credit crunch' the financial crisis deepens as time goes on - like all clubs across the country, EDRU have felt the 'pinch' financially too

EDRU recognises that without a doubt, there are and will be individuals in the Squad (Mens and Ladies)who perhaps feel their commitment to the EDRU does not meet the coaching staff expectancies by not attending sessions, and/or finding difficulties raising funds to support themselves during the session we organise and on occasions not being able to afford the travel costs etc.

EDRU can only offer their moral support and on occasions may be able to assist further for those individuals depending on the circumstances

EDRU endeavours to be sympathetic and supportive as best as possible during these extremely difficult times
