EDRU pre-international warm-up match started with some poor tactics, which enabled Ely Tigers to pick up on EDRU's errors and managed to score 2 tries in the early stage of the match

However, the second half was a much better half, some inspiring rugby was displayed, the young wing, Adam Faulkner very nearly scored with a couple of blistering moves but was halted by a good defensive side 

Brett Pruce should also be proud of his game at Ely, as always Brett demonstrated fine attacking play, and the fact he played with a recent broken finger certainly showed his bravery and determination to carry on regardless

EDRU forwards played with vigour and certainly showed when their minds are put to the their tasks, the pack can be such a force on the pitch

Well Done to Ely on their win, they played with such character and the fact they played their favourite clubman Dave Ballard, a prop of 63yrs to his bow, was a nice gesture for him to have played against an International side

Adam Faulkner was chosen Player of the Match by the Ely XV and was awarded a club tie

Ely RFC were very accomodating to the EDRU and we certainly would look forward to a return fixture for next season and beware, we will be looking to bring the trophy home this time!
