Scottish Deaf International Rugby Team
Are forced to cancel their proposed fixture in May 2009
Neil Houston (Hon Secretary) says:
Thank you to the small contingent of newly setup Irish Deaf Rugby Union, Chris Wightman, Andrew Cochrane & Finbarr Ryan, plus also the heavyweights of England & Wales Deaf Rugby Unions for all their encouragement and offer to travel north to assist Scotland Deaf in celebrating our Tenth Anniversary of Deaf Rugby
It is with regret, SDIRT have decided to postpone this fixture and try to resurrect it in the Autumn, you must all know, we will only be celebrating 10 players rather than our Anniversary if we are lucky!
It is due to the fact, many players have decided to hang up their boots, so we have the massive task in recruiting more players for the home nation to ensure future fixtures are maintained
IF THERE ARE ANY PROUD SCOTTISH PLAYERS WHO WISHES TO PLAY FOR SCOTLAND DEAF RUGBY UNION - PLEASE CONTACT NEIL HOUSTON via their website:
Scotland Deaf Rugby Union
See you all next season!, Neil
Note:
It is proposed all the Deaf Rugby Nations are to meet for a conference meeting in May 2009 and discuss the way forward for Deaf Rugby in Europe, including countries like, France, Italy and the newly introduced country, Ireland.
